3D Subsurface Modeling of Multi-Scenario Rock Property and AVO Feasibility Cubes—An Integrated Workflow

A novel inter-disciplinary methodology for the generation of rock property and AVO feasibility maps or cubes to be used in subsurface characterization prospect de-risking is presented. We demonstrate workflow 1D, 2D 3D cases on data from North Sea Barents Sea, offshore Norway. The enables rapid extrapolation expected physics properties away well control along selected horizons, constrained by seismic velocity information, geological inputs (basin modeling, stratigraphy facies maps) depth trend analysis. In this way, a reservoir sandstone (saturated with any pore fluid) can predicted at given location between existing wells while honoring rock’s burial thermal history same location. should allow more rapid, seamless geologically consistent mapping prospects areas complex geology tectonic influence. results furthermore utilized generate non-stationary training classification.
